How it works
From download to driving, in two minutes.
Watch how you get started with Stellhaus: install it, practise in the simulation, draw your layout, connect your command station safely and drive from your phone.
01Install and start
Download Stellhaus for Windows, macOS, Linux or Raspberry Pi and start it. A small window shows that it is running, and Stellhaus opens in your browser, in simulation: nothing real moves yet.
02The welcome screen
On your first visit, a welcome screen shows the ways in: short exercises, a tour of the screen, connecting your layout step by step, or designing a layout.
03Draw your layout
Draw your track plan to scale from real track pieces, pick one of 36 example layouts, or let the generator design one for your baseboard. Stellhaus divides it into blocks and places the signals. Save, and it runs in the simulation straight away.
04Practise in the simulation
Learn Stellhaus gives you short exercises that tick themselves off: place a train, drive, stop, throw a turnout. The safety logic is the same as on your real layout: a train stops at red, and Stellhaus tells you why.
05Connect, read-only first
Enter the address of your command station. Stellhaus starts in Read only: it sends nothing and only watches. You drive with your command station as usual and see trains and sensors appear on screen.
06Commissioning
The Commissioning page walks you through it: the connection, every sensor, every turnout, a brake test per block. Layout ready? shows what is still open, and on the first running evening cautious mode stays on.
07Drive, also from your phone
Switch read-only off and drive. Open Stellhaus on your phone or tablet: that is your cab, with the speed, the signal ahead and a big Stop button. When a block ahead is occupied, the signal goes red and your train waits.
Try it yourself
The simulation, the editor and read-only mode are free. Nothing to set up: download, start, and the welcome screen takes it from there.
